This past Saturday, I had the amazing opportunity to attend an Inspire Bible Tour Workshop with AMBER BOLTON at The Bridge Church in Princeton, NC! I was so excited to see that there is a local church holding Bible Journaling classes and was really excited to invite some of my friends from church to come along and learn how so we can get our own group going at MY home church. My pastor’s wife, Chatay and my good friend Deborah signed up with me. Ms. Angie Bridgers hosted the event and she did a fantastic job, I wanted to share some of the pictures from the event that I took and some I snagged (with her permission) from Ms. Angie’s Facebook.
Deborah and Chatay soaking it all in! Amber Bolton is a youth pastor and very inspiring!
The verse we journaled as a group was Psalms 46
1God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
2So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
4A river brings joy to the city of our God,
the sacred home of the Most High.
5God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.
From the very break of day, God will protect it.
6The nations are in chaos,
and their kingdoms crumble!
God’s voice thunders,
and the earth melts!
7The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel46:7 Hebrew of Jacob; also in 46:11. See note on 44:4. is our fortress.
8Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:
See how he brings destruction upon the world.
9He causes wars to end throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”
11The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.
The goal was to focus on one phrase that stuck out to us in mediating on the passage.
Deborah chose the oceans and the mountains. I focused on wars ending and God burning the shields. I know He will bring peace after the wars!
Amber focused on the hows and whys of Bible Journaling and also demonstrated several art techniques to show how to respond to the verses we read and pray on. I have been studying using Bible Journaling for over a year now and have really gotten so much more into the Word than I ever have before. I’m hoping to get some of our youth more excited about digging deep into God’s Word.
(I am a total fan girl too LOL!!)
Ms. Angie and the Bridge Church ladies had a beautiful breakfast all ready for us with COFFEE 🙂
This was just too pretty not to share and who doesn’t love donuts!
They announced there were 74 or 76 (??) attendees at the workshop, which is very exciting! I met some amazing women and hope to attend some of the Bridge’s Tuesday night group meetings.
This is my organizational system for my Bible Journaling supplies. Everything I use is in this cart from Michael’s (Recollections brand). I chose to put it all in this cart so I can move around wherever I need to in the house. Most of my journaling/crafting happens in my scrapbook room, but sometimes I like to work at the dining room table or at my desk in my bedroom. I use the top rack for stamps/markers/pencils/paints/watercolors. The second rack holds some ink pads, washi tape, a tape runner, My Bibles and coloring cards/book. The bottom rack holds random paper pieces, stickers, tags, cut down patterned paper and more washi.
