Sketch Challenge using Jar of Love

So I was invited to be a guest designer at Splitcoast Stampers as part of the Creative Crew  from May through August 2017!  I am so incredibly honored and excited to take on this challenge!! We are given five challenges a month to a specific theme and design a project that we post to encourage and inspire our fellow demonstrators (and others!!) to use the product we purchase.  The theme for May is Suite Surprises and I have dedicated five separate blog posts to each of the projects I have designed.  I hope you enjoy and are inspired by my artwork and as always if you don’t have a demonstrator, I would love help with your Stampin’ Up! Needs. Contact me or hit the shop now button up in my menu!

I sometimes struggle with card sketches and I am SO not used to doing one layer cards that this one was certainly a struggle LOL!  I partially case’d  the sample card for Jar of Love from the brand new catalog coming June 1, 2017. I just put my own spin on it. I LOVE ghost stamping with white ink first and then over stamping with soft colors.  I used rich razzleberry, pear pizazz and the brand new in color fresh fig.  Enjoy!

These cute cards were a blast to make!  2 simple layers on the first card with first and second generation stamping to make the cute popsicles and it doesn’t show well but I used wink of stella on them to make them shiny!  The stepped up version is so fun and the first card I’ve used a tassel on!  I stamped the panel the same as the first card, cut it down and just used one of the clear envelopes to use as a shaker pouch.  I’m so happy that ombre ribbon is making into the new catty!! Hope you enjoy my step it up cards!!

I hope you enjoy all the projects that the Creative Crew Team has created for you. Hoping you have a blessed day!

This challenge was to use a tutorial featured on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com and feature it using a suite.  I chose this beautiful wrapped mini journal tutorial by KellyJean Gettelfinger as I wanted to make a cute traveler’s notebook sized mini album for my baby girl’s birthday pictures from this past December.  I just adjusted the size to be taller (8 1/2″).  Using the Beautiful You set and the really cute Tasty Treats DSP along with my beloved circle and oval layering ovals sets.  Colors are peekaboo peach, watermelon wonder, pool party, pear pizazz.

Our next challenge was choosing between three pictures and using one as an inspiration piece.  I am drawn to flowers and gardens and this beautiful picture makes me long for my garden to be in full bloom! NC’s weather has been so crazy this season that our poor plants don’t know which way to go.

I am so happy with how this pocket card turned out and am planning to use a spin on this design as a swap card for the upcoming NC Demo Quarterly event that I will be attending on May 19 (my first and I’m sooooooo excited!!).  I used a standard A2 crumb cake base folded in half and just cut a triangle from the front panel to make the pocket part.  I stamped the background flowers using white craft ink and colored the flowers with our fantastic water color pencils.  I did not activate with water so the craft ink would not smear. The trellis strips are cut at 1/8″ and sponged with crumb cake ink.

Our first challenge was to design a project using these beautiful, soft spring colors! I chose to use Touches of Texture (main catalog) and Beautiful You which is featured in the Spring Occasion catalog both of which are carrying over into the new catty that debuts June 1, 2017!  Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz and Smoky Slate are the closest colors that I could find to match this beautiful color palate.

I random stamped the background using flowers from Touches of Texture

I stamped the lady twice and from one I cut her dress out making a mask to lay over my main so I could stamp the flowers onto her dress.
