Inspiration Challenge using Touches of Texture

So I was invited to be a guest designer at Splitcoast Stampers as part of the Creative Crew  from May through August 2017!  I am so incredibly honored and excited to take on this challenge!! We are given five challenges a month to a specific theme and design a project that we post to encourage and inspire our fellow demonstrators (and others!!) to use the product we purchase.  The theme for May is Suite Surprises and I have dedicated five separate blog posts to each of the projects I have designed.  I hope you enjoy and are inspired by my artwork and as always if you don’t have a demonstrator, I would love help with your Stampin’ Up! Needs. Contact me or hit the shop now button up in my menu.

Our next challenge was choosing between three pictures and using one as an inspiration piece.  I am drawn to flowers and gardens and this beautiful picture makes me long for my garden to be in full bloom! NC’s weather has been so crazy this season that our poor plants don’t know which way to go.

I am so happy with how this pocket card turned out and am planning to use a spin on this design as a swap card for the upcoming NC Demo Quarterly event that I will be attending on May 19 (my first and I’m sooooooo excited!!).  I used a standard A2 crumb cake base folded in half and just cut a triangle from the front panel to make the pocket part.  I stamped the background flowers using white craft ink and colored the flowers with our fantastic water color pencils.  I did not activate with water so the craft ink would not smear. The trellis strips are cut at 1/8″ and sponged with crumb cake ink.
