Cupcakes & Carousels Sketch 15

For this week’s Paper and Ink sketch #15 I chose the Cupcakes and Carousels suite. The card base is made with so saffron. I also used early espresso ink and cardstock, the cupcakes and carousels designer series paper and the embellishment kit. The Ferris wheel is stamped on very vanilla cardstock. I stamped the image again on dsp and fussy cut the cupcake tops. The I stamped it a third time on the dsp behind the image so I could pop up the main image to look three dimensional. I cut the image on very vanilla with the layering circle framelits and layered it with calypso coral cardstock. The sentiment is from the Suite Sentiment set in the Occasions Catalog.

Avant Garden and Birthdays!

I am in serious need of several birthday cards and just got the Avant Garden stamp set last week (along with my already beloved layering Circle Framelits) and decided to make a couple of girly cards.  I completely overlooked and dismissed this stamp set from the SaleAbration catalog because I just didn’t care for it on first glance. I should have known better though, as soon as other talented demos and customers started posting samples, I just had to have it.  I don’t like the line drawn flower bouquet, but this watercolor flower is to die for!

This card is all country!  Kraft cardstock base and used colors of soft sky, night of navy, whisper white craft and old olive.  The background flowers are first stamped with white craft. I used a really juicy ink pad and let dry completely before overstamping with the soft sky.  The main flower is stamped on the circle and a second layer stamped on scrap paper and fussy cut, then popped up with dimensionals.  I also used linen thread and the burlap ribbon.

This card is note card sized, I used second generation stamping in melon mambo for the all flowers and stamped the stamens full strength.  Colors used are whisper white, melon mambo and old olive!

I hope you enjoyed these quick, simple birthday cards and if you would like to order any of the supplies, click the shop now button in the menu up top to go straight to my online store.  The Avant Garden stamp can be yours free with a $50 purchase (before tax and shipping).  Hoping you have a blessed day!!

Paper & Ink Sketches #14

This sketch is beautiful, but I admit I struggled with it until I realized that I didn’t have to commit to circles.  I am very pleased with the results and totally in love with the Stylish Stem Framelits #142750. The background is embossed using the Falling Petals Embossing Folder #142761 and I used some of the leftover punched petals from my Remarkably Girly card that were water colored and punched with the petite petals punch and perfect white accents in the center.  Greeting is stamped using the Sealed with Love stamp set #142815. Cardstock and ink colors used are Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry.

Is it Easter yet??

I admit besides Christmas, Easter is my FAVORITE holiday!!! I love Spring and Easter just brings forth all the sweetness and freshness of beautiful flowers and new growth! I usually get baby fever around this time too even though I’m WELL past having babies. I am ready for a grandchild! I also am getting garden fever and will be planting my garden peas this weekend and getting tomato and pepper seedlings started. YAY!!!

I couldn’t resist this super cute stamp set/framelit bundle from Stampin’ Up call Basket Bunch Bundle #144731.  I random stamped the daffodil on the background in crushed curry and then took my aqua painter and used crushed curry ink to messily watercolor in the flowers.  I used the stitched framelits #145372 for the circle behind the cute basket and for the oval under the greeting. I also used the lace doilies #142793 from the new Occasions Catalog.  The designer series paper came from the absolutely beautiful stack called Cupcakes and Carousels #142744. Ink and cardstock colors used: Whisper White, Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Old Olive.  The beautiful Old Olive ribbon is retired and no longer available for sale.

I hope you enjoy this sweet card and if you just have to have any of the awesome products used, just click the Shop Now link in the menu up top that will take you right to my online shop!

January 2017 Blessings

As a new month rolls in, I wanted to post a few pictures of the many blessings the Byrd family has had so far this year. From our first snow, to gaining a new daughter-in-law, Little man’s birthday, a sleepover, and our church youth experiencing a wonderful conference in the mountains. I’m so thankful that my Mama is growing stronger every day and her hair is coming back in even more beautiful than before. We are so very blessed and I thank God for it every day.

January is completed on the temperature blanket and true to North Carolina weather a complete rainbow of colors!
